First, take your square of paper, and fold it in quarters both directions. Then unfold, so that you have this pattern. |
| Fold over one corner. |
Fold over opposite side so that the tips meet. |
| Fold over first side again to match other side. |
Take one end, and fold to the center. |
| Take the other end, and fold to center. |
Unfold last 2 steps. |
| Turn over. |
Fold one end to line. |
| Unfold last step. |
Fold Other end to line. |
| Unfold last step. |
On the next two folds, make sure these points fold inwards. |
| Take one end, and fold to the center. |
Take the other end, and fold to center. |
| Take one flap, and fold it under. It should go under the other folds that are pointed to by the arrows a couple steps ago. |
Take the other flap, and fold it under. Just like the last step. |
| Turn over. |
Fold both points to the center. |
| Pull this flap open. Inside, you will find another flap, pull it open as well. |
If you have followed all the steps, and have opened the flaps correctly, you should have a block that looks like this.
(Sorry about the picture quality, I need a better camera).

To make a castle, you need a bunch of these.
The tabs point down, and fit in the slots on the sides of the block.
For base blocks, fold the tabs in, and put one block inside another.
It will make a nice solid cube.
Have fun designing your castle.
